Students - Tata College

Tata College, Chaibasa offers both undergraduate and postgraduate courses in science and arts. There are total 19 departments in the college. In arts (humanities and social sciences), we offer 15 undergraduate (UG) programs and three postgraduate(PG) programs. In sciences, we offer six undergraduate (UG) and five postgraduate (PG) programs. The process of admission is centrally managed by the Chancellor Portal of Jharkhand. Examination is conducted by the Kolhan University, Chaibasa. Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) as suggested by the University Grant Commission (UGC), New Delhi, is strictly followed by the concerned university as well as by the college.

Any candidate, interested to get enrolled in a course / program offered by Tata College, need apply through the Chancellor Portal only. However, after getting the detailed list of candidates applied for different courses, the college shortlists the candidates in accordance to their overall scoring in the previous examinations and number of seats available in different courses. The college strictly follows the reservation directives of the Jharkhand State Government for SC, ST, OBC, minorities and woman candidates.

As per the Kolhan University directives, academic sessions of the college starts from the first week of July each year. Term End Examinations for UG 1st, 3rd and 5th semesters along with PG 1st and 3rd semester normally starts on the second week of December. Examinations for all other semesters are conducted during the June. Results are generally declared within a month by the concerned university.
