Admission Guidelines for Tata College, Chaibasa (via Chancellor Portal)
Welcome to Tata College, Chaibasa! As a constituent unit of Kolhan University, all applications for Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) courses at Tata College must be submitted online through the Jharkhand Chancellor Portal.
Please follow the step-by-step guide below to ensure your application is submitted correctly.
Important Prerequisites
Before you begin, ensure you have the following ready:
- Valid Mobile Number & Email ID: You will receive OTPs and admission updates here.
- Scanned Documents:
- Passport-size photograph (approx. 50kb).
- Signature (approx. 50kb).
- Mark sheet of the last qualifying examination (Class 12th for UG / Graduation for PG).
- Caste/Category Certificate (if applicable for reservation).
- Aadhaar Card.
Step-by-Step Application Process
Step 1: Registration (New Users)
- Visit the official Jharkhand Chancellor Portal: https://jharkhanduniversities.nic.in
- Scroll down to the “Student Signup” section.
- Enter your Name (exactly as per your educational certificates), Email ID, and Mobile Number.
- Create a password and complete the CAPTCHA.
- Click “Sign Up”. You will receive a confirmation OT/message.
Step 2: Login & Profile Creation
- Go to the “Login” section on the homepage.
- Log in using your Email/Username and Password.
- Fill Personal Details: Enter your Father’s Name, Mother’s Name, Date of Birth, Gender, Blood Group, and Marital Status.
- Fill Address Details: Enter your permanent and correspondence address.
- Fill Academic Details: Enter marks obtained in your previous examinations (10th, 12th, or UG). Upload your mark sheet copies here.
Step 3: Applying to Tata College
This is the most critical step. Ensure you select the correct options.
- Click on the “Apply for New Application” button.
- Select University: Choose Kolhan University, Chaibasa.
- Select College: Choose Tata College, Chaibasa from the dropdown list.
- Select Discipline: Choose your stream (e.g., Humanities, Science, Commerce, etc.).
- Select Subject: Choose the specific Honours/Core subject you wish to pursue.
Step 4: Payment of Application Fee
- Once the form is filled, proceed to the Payment Section.
- Pay the requisite application fee online via Net Banking, Debit Card, Credit Card, or UPI.
- Note: The fee amount may vary based on your category (Gen/ST/SC/OBC).
- After successful payment, a Payment Receipt will be generated.
Step 5: Final Submission
- Download the Registration Slip and Payment Receipt.
- Print these documents. You will need to produce the hard copies during the document verification process at the college after the merit list is published.
What Happens Next?
- Merit List: Wait for the official Merit List notification from Kolhan University. It will be published on the Chancellor Portal and the Tata College notice board.
- Document Verification: If your name appears in the list, visit Tata College physically with your original documents and the printed application form for verification.
- Admission Confirmation: After verification, pay the admission fee (if distinct from the application fee) to confirm your seat.
